What did you do this past week?
I was very busy this whole week! In addition to juggling team meetings and finding APIs for project 2, I had a coding assignment to work on for Operating Systems class and practice for my interview. Luckily, I was able to make time for my teammates, who were able to find several APIs, and do the team contract.
What’s in your way?
I am unfamiliar with the tools required for web development. I’m planning to use this weekend to start learning about and setting up those tools. Also, the amount of homework that I am having this week and the next upcoming weeks will make time management really hard.
What will you do next week?
I will learn how to use the tools necessary and work with my team to finish project 2. I will have a lot of homework and fear that I won’t have time for this project.
What was your experience of types, object models, and iterators? (this question will vary, week to week)
I was fasinated by the so many similarities between Python and Java. While it stands to reason that there’d be several data structures with different capabilities and specialties, I had believed Python would let the compiler decide which one was necessary based on what you did with the structure.
What made you happy this week?
The only things that made me happy today was the 30 minute breaks that I could have on a daily basis since I had to do lots of homework. Talking to my girlfriend on the phone at night always helped, allowed me to express my frustration for this week.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
This week, with so much stress, I recommend to take a small break, even if it’s just for 5 minutes, and have some food. While some of us stress eat while on stress, I’m the complete opposite. I won’t eat until the source of my stress is gone, and that takes 6+ hours. Taking a small breather will help you recollect your thoughts and help you think better.
