CS373 Fall 2020: Alexy Correa
What did you do this past week?
This past week I finished the project for this phase with my teammates. I was in charge of the backend side of things and also responsible for the creation of the unit tests. I also did not go to class that often, mostly my morning classes since I stayed up from 11 pm on Monday until 7am Tuesday doing the unit test, even though it was due on Wednesday. That messed up my sleeping schedule for the whole week. I also was working on the final individual weekly project for CS439 and other homework.
What’s in your way?
I need to go back and watch the lectures that I missed this week and also learn them well. I also have a ton of homework, so that will set me back a lot, and I need to keep meeting up with my teammates.
What will you do next week?
Next week, my group and I will work together for the last phase of our project. I also will have a lot of homework this upcoming week, so I need to start early and stay up late so that I can have time for studying. I also need to drive 5 hours back to my hometown on Wednesday night to celebrate my mother’s birthday.
If you read it, what did you think of the Dependency Inversion Principle?
I have not read it yet.
What was your experience of relational algebra in Python?
Since I have no experience with python, anything related to it is brand new to me, including relational algebra. I missed class that day, so I need to go back to the recordings to learn more about them.
What made you happy this week?
I got to go outside and go to the mall with my girlfriend. She was helping me with gift ideas for my mom’s birthday. I also was very happy that my CS439 teacher gave us a 3 weeks for a 2 week project only to be extended for an extra 3 days, even though I finished it today.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My tip-of-the-week is to close many unused tabs and applications so that your computer can run faster. I’m the type of person who has multiple youtube tabs open for weeks and never see the video. So, closing unused tabs or apps make your computer more organized.
